IRIS VISUAL PLANNING + DESIGN
IRIS Visual Planning + Design has extensive experience assessing the landscape and visual impact of airport development. This includes Major Development Applications for the Melbourne Airport Third Runway, Brisbane Airport Parallel Runway, Sunshine Coast Airport Upgrade Project, and the Gold Coast Airport 2018 Project.

These complex projects typically include considerable ground preparation works which contribute to a long and complex construction process. Airport developments often require the creation of broad open landscapes with a tall air traffic control structures and associated terminal development, as well as enabling services upgrades including roads and drainage works. During operation, aircraft movement can be seen on the runway and flying overhead. The visual envelope of these developments stretch beyond the visual catchment of the airport itself to involve a citywide change with views to airspace operations. The operational effects of an airport attract considerable community interest and concern, and require particular expertise to assess.
